Perplexity shows its sources on almost every answer. Botric runs the prompts your buyers ask, records which URLs Perplexity cites, whether it names your brand, and which competitor took your place.

Perplexity tracking
What Botric’s Perplexity tracker actually measures
Perplexity AI ranking isn’t a list of ten blue links. It’s which sources Perplexity reads, which of them it cites, and which brands it names in the answer.
A Perplexity tracker runs a fixed set of prompts on a schedule and records the result each time: whether your brand is mentioned, whether your pages are cited, how early you appear, and how Perplexity describes you. Over weeks, that turns a single answer into a trend you can act on.

1
The prompt
The question exactly as a buyer typed it. “Best CRM” and “best CRM for startups” can return different sources, so you track the prompt itself, not a keyword.
Botric records → prompt, intent, engine
2
The source list
The pages Perplexity read before answering. This is the closest thing Perplexity has to a results page. Here, a review site, a competitor, and a Reddit thread made the list. YourBrand’s own site didn’t.
Botric records → every cited URL and domain
3
Inline citation markers
Each claim is tied to a numbered source. That tells you which page shaped which sentence, and which claim you’d need a better page to change.
Botric records → which sources back the answer
4
Brands named
Being named and being recommended aren’t the same. Here YourBrand is named second, framed as the simpler option, while Brand A gets the “safer pick” line.
Botric records → mention, position, competitors named
5
How you’re described
Qualifiers like “limited reporting” travel with your name into every click. Tracking tone per run shows when a caveat appears, and which source introduced it.

Features
Inside Botric
Finding the gap is half the job. This is how Botric closes it.
Tracking tells you where you stand. These are the tools that actually move the number.
01
Content Gap Analysis
Content Gap Analysis surfaces the content and topics you haven't covered, where your search intent coverage falls short, and other gaps in what's published, then gives you priority recommendations so you fix the ones that win mentions in the prompts that matter.
02
Content Agent
Finding a gap doesn't close it. Someone still has to write the page. Content Agent drafts it for you: a comparison page, answer article, or FAQ, built around the exact prompt Perplexity answered and the source it cited instead of you.
03
Prompt Playground
Committing a bad prompt to tracking burns weeks of data on the wrong question. Prompt Playground lets you test a prompt against Perplexity first, for free, before it goes on your tracked list.
04
Competitor benchmark
A citation rate on its own doesn't tell you if you're winning or losing. Botric tracks up to 5 competitors on the same prompts, side by side, so every number has something to compare against.
05
Sentiment analysis
Being named isn't the same as being recommended. A caveat can undo a mention just as easily as a missing citation. Sentiment analysis flags whether Perplexity's tone toward you is positive, neutral, or qualified, on every run.
06
GEO Score
You can spend weeks fixing content and still not know if it worked. GEO Score rolls every mention, citation, position, and sentiment change back into one number, so a fix either moves it or it didn't.

Perplexity GEO
Perplexity AI SEO: four moves that change citations
Perplexity GEO starts with access, then comes down to being in the right sources, saying the answer plainly, and staying current. Your tracking data shows you where to start.
01
Make sure Perplexity can actually read you first
PerplexityBot indexes your pages so they can surface and be cited. Perplexity-User fetches a page live when a user’s question needs it. Block the wrong one in robots.txt and you’re cut out of both.
For category prompts, forums, review sites, and a few publishers often fill the source list. A mention on one of those can do more than a new page of your own.

Also check your CDN and firewall, not just robots.txt, and keep the answer in the HTML rather than behind heavy client-side rendering.
03
Answer the prompt in the first two sentences
Perplexity pulls passages that state the answer plainly. Lead with the answer, then the detail, and phrase headings the way buyers phrase the question.
Hard to citeIn today’s fast-moving sales landscape, choosing the right tools matters more than ever...
Easy to citeYourBrand is a CRM for B2B teams of 5 to 50 reps. Setup takes a day and pricing is per seat.
04
Keep the page current, and show it
Prompts that ask for “this year” or “latest” favor pages that look current. Show the update date, refresh numbers, and update old pages instead of publishing near-duplicates.
A Perplexity citation is a link to a source page that Perplexity shows with its answer, usually as a numbered reference tied to a specific claim. If your URL is in that source list, Perplexity used your page to write the answer. A citation isn't the same as a mention: Perplexity can cite your page without naming your brand, and name your brand while citing someone else.
02
How do I track my brand's citations in Perplexity?
Pick the prompts your buyers ask, run them in Perplexity on a schedule, and record the source list and answer text each time. By hand, that works for a handful of prompts and breaks down fast. Botric automates it: every tracked prompt is re-run on Perplexity weekly, with mentions, cited URLs, competitors named, and sentiment logged on each run.
03
How is a Perplexity tracker different from a rank tracker?
A rank tracker records where a URL sits in a list of search results. Perplexity doesn't return a ranked list of links. It writes an answer and cites sources. A Perplexity tracker measures what's inside that answer: whether you're named, whether your pages are cited, where you appear, and how you're described.
04
Is there such a thing as Perplexity AI ranking?
Not in the classic sense. There's no fixed position one to ten. What behaves like ranking is how often you're named, how early you appear in the answer, and whether your pages make the source list. Botric rolls these into a 0 to 100 GEO Score so you can track movement over time.
05
How do I get cited by Perplexity?
Make sure PerplexityBot can crawl your site, publish pages that answer specific prompts in the first few sentences, keep them current with visible dates, and earn mentions on the forums, review sites, and publishers Perplexity already cites for your topic. That's Perplexity GEO in practice. The Perplexity optimization guide covers each step.
06
How often does Botric check Perplexity?
Botric re-runs every tracked prompt on Perplexity weekly, so you can see movement week over week and catch drops when competitors publish new pages or the source list shifts.
07
Which Botric plan includes Perplexity tracking?
Byte ($49/month, or $45/month billed annually) and Infinity ($149/month). Bit tracks ChatGPT and Google AI Overview, and Free tracks ChatGPT, so neither includes Perplexity. Byte and Infinity both come with a 7-day free trial.
08
Can I see which competitors Perplexity cites instead of me?
Yes. Add up to five competitors and Botric records which of them Perplexity names and which of their pages it cites, prompt by prompt. Content Gap Analysis then shows the content, topics, and search-intent coverage you're missing, with priority recommendations so you close the gaps that matter most.
09
What do Content Gap Analysis and the Content Agent actually do?
Content Gap Analysis surfaces the content, topics, and search-intent coverage you're missing, with priority recommendations on which to fix first. Content Agent then drafts the page: a comparison page, answer article, or FAQ, built around the exact prompt Perplexity answered and the source it cited instead of you.
10
Do I need to install anything on my site?
No. Botric runs prompts on Perplexity from the outside, so there's no code, pixel, or tag to add.
11
Does blocking PerplexityBot stop Perplexity from citing me?
It takes your pages out of what Perplexity's crawler indexes, which makes citations far less likely. If you want to be cited, allow PerplexityBot in robots.txt and check that your CDN or firewall isn't blocking it separately.
12
Why do my Perplexity results change from one run to the next?
Perplexity retrieves sources live, so answers shift as new pages are published, old ones are updated, and competitors earn new mentions. A single manual check can mislead you. Tracking the same prompts on a schedule shows the real trend.
